MARK YOUR KOLLENDER SEPTEMBER 2010

Dear Mailing List,
Wizard Hello!
September is a month for reflection, mostly because I just bought a sweet mirror. But let’s set our cheeseburgers aside and look ahead together to the exciting things I am doing in the furure, the near future, the near-near future, and near-near-near future (aka the present). Together we can forget about the past (aka the rear future), and check out these events to mark on your Kolllender for September 2010.
PS
After the last Kollender went out, longtime Alex Koll fan Bruce A. Teitell asked me in an email, “...I absolutely LOVE the concept but wouldn't it be KollendAr???”
The answer is of course, yes it would be. But it’s not. I put the “Der” in “Kollender”. And I can’t spell.

HELP WANTED
This Sunday the 26th is the premiere of a short film I am in called "Help Wanted". Created by the talented and twisted Waylon Bacon, it will be shown during a showcase of his short films as a part of the Berkeley Video and Film Festival:
Sunday 26th, 6:10 p.m. Spotlight: The Disturbing Short Films of Waylon Bacon
A selection of films from Bay Area filmmaker Waylon Bacon, including Poster Boy (11 minutes), Bob (2 minutes), My Worst Nightmare (7 minutes), and his latest, Help Wanted (20 minutes), in which Jim gets a disturbing — and graphic — tour of his prospective workplace, a warehouse of human remains where employees are required to murder homeless, hookers and minorities in order to supply inventory. A grim and graphic satire of the dehumanizing aspects of the modern job market.

FOR THE RECORD...
HUGE thanks to everyone who came out to the Punch Line in San Francisco last month to be part of my album recording. It was a fantastic night and I am working on putting together the album now. Hopefully it will be out in a month or so, with plenty of fanfare and a release party all it’s own. Keep your eyes peeled and your ears husked.
OPENING MY YAP
Prior to my album recording, I sat down with Marc Hawthorne for an interview with The Bay Citizen. The result was this great profile:
